We’re definitely in the fall spirit this year and are crushing our Fall bucket list! We’ve gone apple picking at Baugher’s, played all morning at Summer’s Farm, and this weekend we went pumpkin picking at Jumbo’s Farm near Frederick, Maryland. It was a blast!
My weekend started with a trip down memory lane with Kinnick on Friday when we headed over to Burke, Virginia and George Mason University. I grabbed lunch at my favorite sushi place and then headed over to George Mason to visit with my mentors in the athletic department. It was so wonderful seeing everyone and learning from them once again! It was such a fun way to spend my afternoon before picking up Magnolia and goodness was our sushi the best! If you’re in the DC area, I can not recommend Fortune House enough!
I enjoyed a quiet evening at home with Neal on Friday night, going to bed fairly early after a very long week. Saturday morning I woke up early with Magnolia and went on a donut run. It’s a fun little treat for Magnolia here and then and it seemed like the perfect way to start off our weekend. After breafast we loaded up the cars and headed up to Jumbo’s Farm with my family and sister.
Jumbo’s is such an adorable farm and they really have it all! Pumpkin patch, corn maze, store, food, playground, petting zoo, it’s all there!
My birthday is today (yay!) so my sister came into town for the weekend. Last year she went apple picking with us for my birthday, so I loved being able to go on another fall adventure with her this year.
We started out our time at Jumbo’s in the corn maze. It took us 31 minutes to get out, but man, Magnolia was champ! She had so much fun choosing which way we’d go and running through the corn. It was a blast.
Next we headed over to the pumpkin patch and picked out the perfect pumpkin.
We closed out our time at Jumbo’s Farm by visiting the animal (Magnolia went on a pony ride twice!) and shopping in the General Store. I purchased a white pumpkin, the pumpkin we found in the field, and an adorable little sign. We had such a wonderful time at Jumbo’s and I can’t wait to come back again next year!
Saturday night I went to Field of Screams in Maryland with a group of co-workers. We had a really good time, going into the haunted house and on the haunted hayride. Afterwards we enjoyed drinks at my house, which was fun! A fun, and thrilling, end to our Saturday.
Sunday was a quiet day. We enjoyed breakfast at home and then my sister and I went to a coffee shop to talk before going grocery shopping. Alison left after lunch and then Neal and I got a few things done around the house while the kids napped. We closed out our weekend picking up clothes at the Tot Swap and then watching football after the kids went to bed.
It was a really wonderful weekend and I’m really looking forward to the week ahead. The weather is going to be cool, finally, and starting your week off with a birthday is never a bad thing! Here’s to 33.
